HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1982-065 ORDINANCE NO. $2-65 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AMENDING GRAPEVINE CITY CODE, SEC- TION 5-3 (b) & (c) RELATING TO AMBULANCE FEES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVID- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. Grapevine City Code Section 5-3 , Subsections (b) & (c) relating to ambulance fees is hereby amended to read as follows : ' (b) A fee of $45. 00 shall be charged per trip for the transportation by emergency ambulance of a person to a hospital providing emergency medical aid, in response to a call received by the fire department for emergency ambulance service when the emergency run is made within the City. (c) A Fee of $60 . 00 shall be charged per trip for the transportation by emergency ambulance of a person to a hospital providing emerqency medical aid , in response to a call received by the fire department for emergency ambulance service when the emergency run is made without the corporate city limits of Grapevine. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deem�d guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction in Municipal Court, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 .00 ) for each offense. Section 3. Should any section or provision of this ordi- nance for any reason be held void, unconstitutional , or invalid, � it shall not affect the validity of any other section or provi- sion hereof which is in itsel� not void, unconstitutional , or invalid. Section 4 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances incon- sistent or conflicting with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however , that the repeal of existing ordinances by this ordinance shall not affect or pre- vent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this ordinance , but prosecutions for such offenses may be instituted and causes presently pend- ing proceeded with in all respects as if such prior ordinance had been repealed. Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances of the City of Grapevine, Texas are insufficient to control the oper- ation of ambulances creates an urgency and an emergency in the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare , and require that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of said ordinance , as the law in such cases provides.
