AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS , AMENDING SEC-
TION 25-27 OF THE GRAPEVINE CITY CODE RE-
LATING TO WASTE WATER RATES; PROVIDING A
PENALTY; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY; PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY
BE IT ORD�,INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section l . That Section 25-27 of the City Code of the City .
of Grap�vine , Texas is hereby amended to include a monthly waste
water charge of $11 . 26 for all residences within the City limits
of Grapevine, Texas, who are not connected to the City' s munici-
pal water system.
Section 2 . Any person violating any of the portions of
• this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon
conviction thereof, shall be fined $1. 00 to $200 . 00 and each day
such violation continues shall constitute a separate and distinct
offense.
Section 3. If any section, paragraph, sentence , clause,
phrase, or word in this ordinance , or application thereto to any
person or circumstance , is held invalid or unconstitutional by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such holdings shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance and the
City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining
portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remain-
ing portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4 . The effective date for charging of the waste
water rates is November 15 , 1982 , and all affected customers
shall be billed under the new rates for usage commencing said
date.
Section 5. The fact that the present Code of Ordinances
for the City of Grapevine, Chapter 25 , Section 25-27 relating
to waste water rates is inadequate creates an urgency and an -
emergency and, in the preservation of the public health, safety,
and welfare , requires that this ordinance shall become effec-
tive from and after the date of its passage and the publication
of the caption as the law and charter in such cases provides.
