HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1981-060 ORDINANCE NO. 81-60 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23, SEC- TION 30 OF THE CITY CODE OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, BY ADDING STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN; AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF TRAFFIC REGULATIONS SIGNS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; �,,, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVID- ING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. The City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas, Chapter 23 , Section 30, is hereby amended by adding stop signs at the following described locations : A. On Northbound Tanglewood at Oak Forest Drive. B. On Southbound Tanglewood at Oak Forest Drive. C. On Northbound Tanglewood at Southridge Drive. D. On Southbound Tanglewood at Southridge Drive. E. On Northbound Tanglewood at Cresthaven. F. On Southbound Tanglewood at Cresthaven. G. On Northbound Tanglewood at Harvest Hill. !�� H. On Southbound Tanglewood at Harvest Hill. � Section 2. That the City Manager or his agent is hereby authorized to have stop signs erected, constructed, and placed at such points along said streets. Section 3. That all ordinances or any parts thereof in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are deemed repealed and of no force or effect provided, how- ever, that the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed and pending in the Municipal Court of the City of Grapevine, Texas, shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed of by a final conviction or a findinq not guilty of nolo contendere, or dismissal. Section 4. If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause , phrase or provisions of this ordinance shall be judged invalid or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any portion thereof other than that portion so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional. Section 5. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction in the Municipal Court, shall be fined in an amount not to exceed the sum of Two Hun- �„i, dred Dollars ($200. 00) for each offense. Section 6. The fact that the traffic regulations of the City of Grapevine do not adequately regulate the traffic with- in the City creates an urgency and an emergency and the preser- vation of the public health, safety, and welfare requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption of said ordinance as the law and the City Charter in such cases provides.
