HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1980-059 ORDINANCE NO. 80-59 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 , SECTION ` 30 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPE- VINE, TEXA5, BE ADDING STOP SIGNS AT CER- TAIN LOCATIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN; AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF TRAFFIC REGULATION SIGNS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVID- ING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PEN- ALTY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY .:�, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS : Section l. The City Code of Grapevine, Texas, Chap- ter 23 , Section 30 , is hereby amended by adding stop signs at the following described locations : On Westbound Trail Lake at Roaring Springs On Westbound Trail Lake at Kimball On Westbound Sweet Briar at Roaring Springs On Westbound Sweet Briar at Kimball On Eastbound Sweet Briar at Roaring Springs On Eastbound Sweet Briar at Summit Ridge On Eastbound Trail Lake Drive at Roaring Springs On Eastbound Trail Lake Drive at Summit Ridge On Eastbound Scenic Drive at Summit Ridge On Southbound Cliffside at Trail Lake Drive On Southbound Rock Port Cove at Trail Lake Drive On Southbound Roaring Springs at Sweet Briar On Northbound Roaring Springs at Kimball On Westbound River Crest at Roaring Springs On Southboun� Willow Creek Drive at River Crest On Northbound Willow Creek Drive at Kimball _�" On Southbound Washington Street at Turner On Southbound Jones Street at Turner ' On Westbound Turner Street at Dooley Section 2. That the City Manager or his agent, is here- by authorized to have stop signs erected, constructed and placed at such points along said streets. Section 3. That all ordinances or any parts thereof in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and here- by are deemed repealed and of no force or effect provided, however, that the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed and pending in the Municipal Court of the City of Grapevine, Texas , shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed of by a final conviction or a finding not guilty of nolo contendere, or dismissal. Section 4 . If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or provisions of this ordinance shall be judged invalid or unconstitutional the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any portion thereof other than that portion so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional. Section 5. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Municipal Court, shall �' be fined in an amount not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200. 00) for each offense. Section 6. The fact that the traffic regulations of the City of Grapevine do not adequately regulate the traffic within the City creates an urgency and an emergency and the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption of said ordi- nance as the law and the City Charter in such cases provides.
