AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ALLOWING
VESTING OF CERTAIN RIGHTS, AND FOR RE-
TIREMENT UNDER TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIRE-
MENT SYSTEM OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE WHO HAVE ATTAINED FIFTY
YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE COMPLETED TWEN-
TY-FIVE YEARS OF CREDITABLE SERVICE
WITH SAID CITY
,� �� BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS;
SECTION l. Effective on the lst day of J�nuarv �
�, 1981, any employee of the City of Grapevine who has attained
the age fifty (50) years, and who as an employee of this City
has completed twenty-five or more years of creditable service
for which he is entitled to credit in the Texas Municipal Re-
tirement System, and who has been a member of the System for
one year or more, shall be eligible for service retirement as
provided in subsection 1 (b) , Section VII of Article 624h,
Vernon' s Texas Civil Statutes, as amended. Any such employee
who shall have completed twenty (20) years or more of credit-
able service as an employee of said City shall continue as a
member of Texas Municipal Retirement System despite subsequent
absence from service for a period in excess of sixty months,
provided he does not withdraw his deposits during such absence,
and shall be eligible to retirement upon and after attainment
of the minimum age prescribed by the Act above mentioned.
