A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL
LOGO AND SLOGAN FOR THE CITY AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
� WHEREAS, on December, 18 , 1979 the City Council of the City
of Grapevine, Texas (the "City") voted in favor of authorizing
the City Staff to conduct a contest for the design of a new City
>s�, �, logo and slogan; and
WHEREAS, following a lengthy review of the final entries in
the contest, on May 6, 1980 the City Council, by motion adopted
the logo submitted by Mr. Royce Weisinger of Euless, Texas, as
depicted on Exhibit "A" , attached hereto, and adopted the slogan
"Grapevine - A Future with a Past" submitted by Ms. Dorcas Taylor
of Denton, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this logo and slogan
continue to reflect the spirit of the City of Grapevine and now
desires to formally adopt by the passage of this resolution this
logo and slogan as the official logo and slogan of the City of
Grapevine.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the logo depicted on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein is hereby adopted as and declared
to be the official logo of the City of Grapevine, Texas.

Section 2 . That the slogan "Grapevine - A Future with a
Past" is hereby adopted as and declared to be the official slogan
of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
Section 3 . That this resolution shall take effect from and
after the date of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the llth day of July , 1989 .
