HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1989-026 RESOLUTION NO. 89-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND THE DEPUTY CHIEF TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AS REQUIRED BY ARTICLE V.C.S. 6701-M1&2 FOR �"� EXEMPT VEHICLE LICENSE PLATES ,,� WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas adopted Ordinance No. 87-64 on October 6, 1987 allowing certain police department vehicles be exempt from identification under Article V.C. S. 6701-M1&2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section l . That the City Council has determined that certain police department vehicles, when used in the performance of official duties , are exempt under Article V.C.S. 6701-M1&2 from identification. Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the Chief of Police and the Deputy Chief of Police to sign the forms required to be submitted for registration requesting regular license plates for exempt vehicles. Section 3 . That the City Council specifically authorizes ��� Interim Chief of Police Grady Lewis to sign the forms required to be submitted for registration requesting regular license plates for exempt vehicles until the City has appointed a Chief of Police and Deputy Chief. Section 4 . That the City Council requests the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation issue regular license plates upon submittal of the proper application for exempt vehicles. Section 5 . That the Chief of Police forward a copy of this resolution along with the application for registration requesting regular plates for exempt vehicles to the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. Section 6. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
