RESOLUTION N0. 37-35
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE , TEXAS, DECLARING THE NECESSITY
TO ACT AT ONCE TO APPROPRIATE MONEY FOR THE
REPAIR OF THE TYMCO 600 STREET SWEEPER BY
INDUSTRIAL DISPOSAL SUPPLY COMPANY ( "IDS" ) ;
FINDING AND CONCLUDING THAT THE FUNCTIONAL
� REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY FOR THE REPAIR OF
THE STREET SWEEPER CAN ONLY BE SATISFIED BY
IDS; DIRECTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE
� REPAIR OF THE STREET SWEEPER IN THE AMOUNT
OF �12 ,684 .85; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE .
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas ( the "City" ) has
discovered that the blowers and hopper seals to the City' s
Tymco 600 street sweeper are worn to such a degree that the
vacuum force is no longer effective; and
WHEREAS, the City' s street sweeping program provides for
sweeping the main thoroughfares once a month and residential
streets twice a year and the Tymco 600 street sweeper is the
City' s only street sweeper; and
WHEREAS, in order to maintain the City' s street sweeping
program and to preserve and protect the health and safety of
the citizens of the City, in accordance with the provisions of
Chapter 252 of the Local Government Code, it is necessary to
act at once to appropriate money for the repair of the street

sweeper; and
WHEREAS, Industrial Disposal Supply Company ( "IDS" ) is
the only company within any reasonable distance of the City
that can obtain parts and has authority to repair the street
sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and concludes the
functional requirements of the City for the repair of the
street sweeper can only be satisfied by IDS and, in accordance
with the provisions of Chapter 252 of the Local Government
Code, it is necessary to appropriate money for the repair of
the street sweeper without compliance with the competitive
bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS , the City Council desires to direct and authorize
the City Manager to enter into a contract for the repair of the
street sweeper in the amount of �12 ,684 . 85 .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to
be true and correct and are incorporated into this resolution

as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2 . That the City Council hereby finds and
determines that it is necessary to immediately appropriate
money for the repair of the street sweeper .
Section 3 . That the City Council hereby directs and
authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract for the
repair of the street sweeper with Industrial Disposal Supply
Company in the amount of �12 ,684 .85 and to take all steps
necessary to effectuate said contract.
Section 4 . That this resolution shall take effect from
and after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
