A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS REQUESTING THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION TO REMOVE THE STATE HIGHWAY
DESIGNATION FROM IRA E. WOODS AVENUE, MAIN
STREET AND NORTHWEST HIGHWAY, BETWEEN THE
EAST BOUNDARY OF STATE HIGHWAY 114 INTER-
CHANGE AND THE INTERCHANGE OF STATE HIGHWAY
26 AND SPUR 382; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the removal of the State Highway designation from
State Highway 26 will allow the City to proceed with their plans
for the Main Street Streetscape Program; and
WHEREAS, the removal of the State Highway designation from
State Highway 26 will require the City to assume the maintenance
of Ira E. Woods Avenue and Main Street from State Highway 114 to
Northwest Highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council hereby requests the State
'�"" Department of Highways and Public Transportation to remove the
State Highway designation from Ira E. Woods Avenue, Main Street
and Northwest Highway between the east boundary of State High-
way 114 interchange and the interchange of State Highway 26 and
Spur 382 .
Section 2 . This resolution shall take effect from and after �
its date of passage, and it is accordingly so resolved.
