A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE ELECTION
PRECINCT BOUNDARIES CREATED BY TARRANT COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS ' COURT AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
� " WHEREAS, on August 31, 1987, the Commissioners ' Court of
Tarrant County revised the Justice of the Peace Precincts and
Tarrant County Voter Precinct Lines as proposed by the Elections
�-� Administrator, adding Precinct No. 3360 and Precinct No. 3361 ,
and revised the boundaries of Precinct No. 3035, Precinct
No. 3321, Precinct No. 3114, and Precinct No. 3038 with such
boundaries as indicated on the 1987 Precinct Map attached hereto
as Exhibit "A" and the 1988 Precinct Map attached hereto as
Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, the precinct boundary legal descriptions are
attached hereto as Exhibit "C" to include all precincts located
within the City limits of Grapevine, Texas; and
WHEREAS, Section 42 . 061 of the Texas Election Code requires
that election precincts for municipal elections be designated by
the governing body of the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt those precincts created
by the County as its voting precincts for municipal elections;
and
WHEREAS, the change in voting precincts may require
preclearance under the Federal Voting Rights Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
��' CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That Precinct No. 3035, Precinct No. 3038,
Precinct No. 3114, Precinct No. 3321, Precinct No. 3360 and
Precinct No. 3361 as created by the Tarrant County Commissioners '
Court are hereby adopted by the City as its voting precincts for
municipal elections and those boundaries are more particularly
described on the map attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit "B" .
Section 2. That the above described precinct boundary legal
descriptions are attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit "C" .
Section 3. That the City Secretary or City Attorney is
authorized to make such submissions as are necessary to the
United States Department of Justice to seek preclearance approval
for the changes relating to such precincts.
Section 4. That the actions herein contemplated are taken
to comply with the laws of the State of Texas and the Federal
Voting Rights Act.
Section 5. That any provision of any resolution of the City
� of Grapevine, Texas that is inconsistent with this resolution is
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
Section 6 . That this resolution shall be effective from and
after the date of its passage.

the north line of Tarrant County; and the point in Grapevine
Lake where Dove Creek crosses the north line of Tarrant
County; thence easterly along the county line to Dove Loop
extended to north line of Tarrant County; thence southerly
