A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, RECOGNIZING THE MEETING
NEEDS OF LOCAL CIVIC GROUPS AND NON-PROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS; ACCEPTING THE JOINT
RECOMMENDATION OF THE GRAPEVINE CONVENTION &
VISITORS BUREAU ADVISORY BOARD AND THE
�"' FACILITIES COMMITTEE REGARDING THE GRAPEVINE
CIVIC CENTER AND THE GRAPEVINE CONVENTION
CENTER AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, there is a need for local civic groups and
non-profit organizations to meet regularly; and
WHEREAS, the rental rate structure of the new civic center
, facility appears to be a deterrent to optimum use by the citizens
of the City; and
� WHEREAS, the cost of catering and insurance may adversely
impact small local caterers using the new civic center facility;
and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory
Board recommends that the City maintain the existing Civic Center
at 311 South Main Street for civic groups, other non-profit
qroups and other such groups and organizations which deem that
facility will meet their needs under the existing arrangement;
and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory
Board recommends the new facility at 1209 South Main Street
henceforth be referred to as the Grapevine Convention Center; and
�w WHEREAS, the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory
Board recommends the facility at 311 South Main Street continue
to be referred to as the Grapevine Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the Facilities Committee supports the
recommendation of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau
Advisory Board regarding the facilities at 311 South Main Street
and 1209 South Main Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That the City Council does recognize the need
for local civic groups and non-profit organizations to have a
regular meeting place.
Section 2 . That the City Council does support the
recommendation of the Grapevine Convention & visitors Bureau
Advisory Board and the Facilities Committee.
Section 3 . That the facility located at 311 South Main
Street will continue to be referred to as the Grapevine Civic
Center.

Section 4 . That the new facility located at 1209 South Main
Street shall henceforth be referred to as the Grapevine
Convention Center.
Section 5 . That the rental rate structure as presented in
Ordinance No. 83-92 be maintained as originally presented and
adopted by the Grapevine City Council on December 15, 1987.
Section 6 . That this resolution shall be effective from and
after the date of its passage.
