HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1988-010 RESOLUTION NO. 88-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICE OF MR. CHARLES KEVIN CONKLIN �"� WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, is desirous of expressing their appreciation to Mr. Charles Kevin Conklin for the dedication and untiring service rendered by him � to this community; and WHEREAS, for the past nine years, Mr. Conklin has served as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Grapevine. His tireless dedication to the citizenry to provide quality parks and athletic facilities; and WHEREAS, Mr. Conklin was instrumental in the application and receival of a Texas Parks and Wildlife matching grant that developed Parr Park and Oak Grove Softball Complex; the development of various neighborhood parks that included Dove Crossing, C. J. Hutchins, Glade Crossing, Glade Landing and Shadow Glen; the expansion and construction of Dove Park; the application and subsequent designation of Grapevine as a "Tree City U.S.A. " , by the National Arbor Day Foundation; the development of the Oak Grove Park Soccer Complex; the landscaping and beautification of various City facilities and medians; the support and direction in the growth and development of the Senior Citizens Center; and his continued effort in City wide special events and parades; and WHEREAS, Mr. Conklin also worked in cooperation with various ��� agencies and organizations in the course of his duties consisting of, but not limited to, the U.S . Army Corps of Engineers, Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, the State Department of Highways, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Grapevine Garden Club; and WHEREAS, Mr. Conklin is leaving his position with the City of Grapevine in February, 1988 , and will be assuming a position within the private sector. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, that the Mayor and City Council, along with the City Staff, extend this sincere expression of esteem and appreciation to Mr. Charles Kevin Conklin for dedicated professional service and in acknowledgement of his contributions to the civic welfare of this community, and do hereby express best wishes for continued good health and success for many years to come.
