A RESOLUTION OF THE GRAPEVINE CITY COUNCIL
OPPOSING THE CONSISTENT NAMING OF MAJOR
THOROUGHFARES WHICH PASS THROUGH MORE THAN
ONE CITY AS PROPOSED BY THE COUNCIL OF
�:; .r NORTHEASTERN TARRANT CITIES AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Council of Northeastern Tarrant Cities
( "CONET") is developing a method whereby major thoroughfares
which pass through more than one city would have a common name;
and
WHEREAS, the renaming of city streets would have a
deleterious effect on the residences and businesses located
within the city by having to change mailing addresses; and
WHEREAS, the names of certain streets located within the
city are of historical significance and should not be changed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
; CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

� Section 1 . That the Grapevine City Cour�cil hereby opposes
j � the Council of Northeastern Tarrant Cities ' ( "CONET") efforts to
! develop a plan for the consistent naming of major thoroughfares
� �-�.�> which pass through more than one city.

I Section 2. That this resolution shall become effective from
i and after the date of its passage.
