A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE MEDIAN
OPENING ALONG S.H. 26 AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the DFW International Executive Conference Center
and Hilton Hotel ( "Conference Center") is an internationally
recognized executive meeting and conference center with over four

hundred (400) guest rooms; and
� WHEREAS, the Conference Center fronts and is adjacent to
° S.H. 26; and
WHEREAS, the Conference Center currently enjoys full access
to and from S.H. 26 from its main entrance driveway; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation (S.D.H.P.T. ) will widen S.H. 26 to a four-lane
roadway with controlled median openings; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine supports the S.H. 26 project;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine will participate financially
� with the S.D.H.P.T. ' s S.H. 26 project; and
, WHEREAS, the S.D.H.P.T, has granted a full median opening at
Anderson-Gibson Road and at the south end of the Conference
Center project; and
WHEREAS, under current S.D.H.P.T. plans, the Conference
: Center will be denied a median opening to service its main
� ri�..,, driveway; and
WHEREAS, a traffic analysis has been conducted which
indicates no safety or operational deficiencies will result from
a left-in only median opening; and
WHEREAS, the Conference Conference is desirous of obtaining
a left-in only median opening to service its main driveway; and
� WHEREAS, S .D.H.P.T. is currently moving forward in
� acquiring right-of-way for the S.H. 26 project.
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
' CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That the City of Grapevine requests the
S.D.H.P.T. to modify S.H. 26 median opening design plans to allow
a left-in only median opening for the Conference Center.
Section 2 . That this resolution shall become effective from
