A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ACCEPTING AND ADOPTING
THE PROVISIONS OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION MINUTE ORDER 87501 REGARDING THE
IMPROVEMENT OF DALLAS ROAD FROM STATE
HIGHWAY 114 TO STATE LOOP 382 AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE _

WHEREAS, the State Highway and Public Transportation
Commission (the "Commission" ) has determined that Dallas Road,
from State Highway 114 to State Loop 382, a distance of
``�'"� approximately 2 . 0 miles, (the "Project" ) located within the
City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas, is in need of
improvement;
WHEREAS, the Commission has approved Minute Order 87501 ,
a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein for all purposes, which order provides that
the Project qualifies for the 1988-92 Urban System Principal
Arterial Street System Program;
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine shall provide the plans
specifications and estimates for the Project and shall provide
$493, 000 toward construction of the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Grapevine, Texas :
Section 1 . The City Council hereby accepts and adopts
the proposal of the Commission contained in Minute Order 87501
relating to the improvements to Dallas Road from State Highway
114 to State Loop 382, a distance of approximately 2 . 0 miles,
�� located within the City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas .
The City agrees to provide the following toward the Project :
�'� 1 . One hundred percent (100%) of the cost of
right-of-way clear of obstructions and free of
cost to the State with acquisition procedures to
be in accordance with the policies of the State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation
and in accordance with applicable Federal and
State laws governing the acquisition policies for
acquiring real property; and
2 . One hundred percent ( 1000) of the cost of utility
adjustments as may be required in accordance with
policies of the State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation; and
3 . Four hundred ninety three thousand dollars
($493,000) toward construction of the Project; and
4 . Plans, specification and estimates for the Project
to include environmental reports, public meetings,
schematics and right-of-way determination.
Section 2 . The State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation shall :
1 , Provide relocation assistance as may be determined
to be eligible under the Relocation Assistance
Program; and
2. Provide for construction of Dallas Road from State
Highway 114 to State Loop 382; and
3 . Maintain that portion of the work which is its
responsibility in accordance with present
maintenance agreements .
The State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation shall proceed in the most feasible and economic
manner with the project development to include any necessary
^"� agreements, right-of-way acquisition, utility adjustment,
relocation assistance and construction at an estimated cost of
$4,408,000 to the State which will be funded from the 1988-92
�.�, Urban System/Principal Arterial Street System Program.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall become effective
after is passage and adoption by the Grapevine City Council .

Motion was made by Council Member Traverse and
seconded by Council Member Niedermeier that the City
Council of the City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas adopt a
resolution accepting the provisions contained in Minute Order
87501 passed by the State Department of Highways' and Public
Transportation Commission on June 28, 1988, for the improvement
by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation
for the improvements to Dallas Road from State Highway 114 to
State Loop 382, located in Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas .

WHEREAS, in TARRANT COUNTY in the City of Grapevine on DALLAS
�x� ROAD from State Highway 114 to State Loop 382, a distance of
approximately 2.0 miles, a project is required; and
WHEREAS, this project qualifies for the 1988-92 Urban
System/Principal Arterial Street System Program (Major Urbanized Areas)
approved this date by State Highway and Public Transportation
Commission action; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has offered to provide the
plans, specifications and estimates for this project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has offered to provide $493,000
toward construction;
i NOW, TNEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Engineer-Director is
hereby directed to tender the following proposal to the City of
Grapevine:
Provided the City of Grapevine will:
' 1. Provide one hundred percent of the cost of right of way
�-..r clear of obstructions and free of cost to the State with
acquisition procedures to be in accordance with policies of
the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation
��� and with applicable Federal and State laws governing the
acquisition policies for acquiring real property.
2. Provide one hundred percent of the cost of utility

Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the City of
Grapevine, IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Dallas Road from State Highway
114 to State Loop 382 be and is hereby designated a PRINCIPAL ARTERIAL
. STREET; and
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Engineer-Director is hereby °`"'�
authorized to proceed in the nost feasible and economical manner with
project development to include any necessary agreements, right of way ,,�,�
acquisition, utility adjustments, relocation assistance and
construction at an estimated cost of $4,408,000 to the State which will
be funded from the 1988-92 Urban System/Principai Arterial Street

�' This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City
� of Grapevine; and if not accepted within 120 days of the date hereof,
� the action herein contained shall be automatically canceled.
