HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1987-002 CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 87-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE SALE, AT PUBLIC AUCTION HELD DECEMBER 6, 1986, OF A 1952 CHEVROLET FLATBED TRUCK FOR �100. 00; DECLARING THE TRUCK TO BE SURPLUS; FINDING THAT THE �100 . 00 � i RECEIVED FOR THE TRUCK WAS EQUAL TO THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF THE TRUCK; DETERMINING THAT THE SALE OF THE TRUCK DID NOT NEED TO BE COMPETITIVELY BID; �� APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF FIFTY-TWO THEATER SEATS; DECLARING THE FIFTY-TWO THEATER SEATS AS SURPLUS; DETERMINING THAT THE SALE OF THE FIFTY-TWO THEATER SEATS NEED NOT BE COMPETITIVELY BID; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR THE SALE OF THE FIFTY-TWO THEATER SEATS. WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas was the owner of a 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck , model number 6400MVISTWK8321 ; and WHEREAS, the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck was obsolete and no longer in service or use ; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and Police Chief of the City of Grapevine, Texas recommended that the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck be declared surplus and sold as surplus ; and WHEREAS, the best and most expedient method to facilitate the sale of the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck was by public auction; and �,<...A WHEREAS, on December 6, 1986, a public auction was held and �<� the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck was sold for $100 . 00; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck was surplus equipment that was no longer used, or needed, by the City of Grapevine, Texas ; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the price received for the sale of the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck in the amount of $100 . 00 was equal to the fair market value of the truck ; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby ratifies and approves the sale, by public auction held December 6, 1986 , of the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck for $100 . 00 ; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that there was no need to competitively bid the sale of the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck as it was a surplus vehicle ; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is the owner of, and in possession of, fifty-two theater seats formerly used in the former Council Chambers of the City Hall ;and �- a WHEREAS, the fifty-two theater seats are obsolete and no longer in service or use ; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the fifty-two theater seats be declared surplus and sold as surplus ; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the fifty-two theater seats are surplus equipment that are no longer used , or needed, by the City of Grapevine, Texas ; and L4HEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that there is no need to competitively bid the sale of the fifty-two theater seats as they are surplus equipment; and WHEREAS, the City Staff has recommended that the City sell the fifty-two theater seats as surplus equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section l . That all the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this � -� Resolution as if copied in their entirety . Section 2 . The City Council hereby ratifies and approves �. :, the sale, by public auction held December 6, 1986, of a 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck for $100 . 00 . Section 3. The City Council hereby declares that the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck sold was surplus equipment which was no longer used nor needed by the City . Section 4 . The City Council hereby finds that the �100 . 00 received for the 1952 Chevrolet flatbed truck was equal to the fair market value of the truck . Section 5 . The City Council hereby declares the fifty-two theater seats formerly used in the former Council Chambers of City Hall as surplus equipment which is no longer used nor needed by the City. Section 6 . The City Council hereby approves and authorizes the sale of the fifty-two theater seats as surplus equipment. Section 7 . The City Manager is hereby directed and authorized to take all necessary action to sell and to execute all '�s`' necessary documents for the sale of the fifty-two theater seats as surplus equipment . �;_ PASSED AND APPROVED this 6th day of January, 9 7 .
