A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED PROFES-
SIONAL SERVICE OF MR. JIM BADDAKER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
� is desirous of expressing their appreciation to Mr. Jim Baddaker
for the dedication and untiring service rendered by him to this
community; and
�++ WHEREAS, for the past 8 years, Mr. Baddaker has served as
Director of Public Works for the City of Grapevine during a time
of extensive municipal growth and was responsible for establish-
ing the City' s first Engineering Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Baddaker also implemented many new programs,
which include the first city-wide mapping system; establishment
of the capital recovery fee structure; creation of construction
standards and subdivision standards for development within the
City; vast expansion of city services including street recon-
struction and water & wastewater system improvements; and imple-
mentation of the 1984 comprehensive rezoning of the entire City;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Baddaker also worked in cooperation with
various governmental agencies in the course of his duties, which
included the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation, the Trinity River Autho-
rity, and the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, developing
valuable intergovernmental relationships; and
�, WHEREAS, Mr. Baddaker is leaving his position with the City
of Grapevine in January of 1987 and will be assuming a position
with a private consulting engineering firm in Fort Worth; and
�
WHEREAS, Mr. Baddaker ' s professional assistance and out-
standing contributions to the infrastructure development of the
City of Grapevine are to be highly commended and are extremely
deserving of this special recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, that the Mayor and City Council, along
with the City Staff, extend this sincere expression of esteem and
appreciation to Mr. Jim "JB" Baddaker for dedicated professional
service and in acknowledgement of his contributions to the civic
welfare of this community, and do express best wishes for con-
tinued good health and success for many years to come.
