A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR A
SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER GRANT
�
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine is located in one of the
fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States; and
�
WHEREAS, the young people of our community are our most
important natural resource; and
WHEREAS, there are over 6, 100 students currently enrolled in
Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, problems relating to young people can best be
handled when there exists open lines of communication between law
enforcement officers and young people; and
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, through grants, will
provide funding for programs designed to increase open lines of
communication between officers and students.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section l . That the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to
submit an application to the Criminal Justice Division for a
�"'' School Resource Officer Program grant.
�, Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine understands that, if
approved, the Criminal Justice Division will provide 100� funding
for the program for the period of one (1) year.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 17th day of February, 1987 .
