87-18 AND ALL ACTION TAKEN ON APRIL 6,
1987; PASSING AND APPROVING ALL THE DATA
CONTAINED IN RESOLUTION N0. 87-18 IN ITS
ENTIRETY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 87-18 relating to canvassing of the
„� April 4 , 1987 City Officers Election was passed and approved by
the City Council on April 6, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Section 3. 10 of the Charter of the City of
Grapevine, Texas states that five qualified members of the City
Council shall constitute a quorum to do business; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 1987 business was conducted by four
members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to ratify Resolution No.
87-18 and all action taken on April 6 , 1987 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That Resolution No. 87-18 (Exhibit A, attached)
is hereby ratified as of April 6, 1987.
Section 2. That all data contained in Resolution No. 87-18
'"�'� is hereby passed and approved.
I,„r,;� Section 3 . That this resolution shall take effect from and
after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so resolved.

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE 1987 CITY OFFICERS ELECTION
- AND CALLING A RUN-OFF ELECTION
WHEREAS, there c,ame to be considered the returns of an
"� m election held on the 4th day of April, 1987 , for the purpose of
electing the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from
said returns fully and legally made that there were cast at said
�� election 1, 434 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates
in said election received the following votes :

� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

Section 1. That said election was duly called; that notice
of said election was given in accordance with law; and that said
election was held in accordance with law; and that the following
named person was duly elected to the office indicated:
Ted R. Ware . . . . . . . . . Council, Place 5
Section 2 . That the said above person is hereby declared
duly elected to said respective office, subject to the taking of
the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws of this State
and the ordinances of this City, and that in Council, Place Six
no candidate received a majority of the total votes cast. A
run-off election between the two candidates receiving the most
votes shall be held between fourteen to twenty-eight days from
date of the regular election. Date of said election shall be
April 25 , 1987 , and the'� place of voting shall be Cannon
Elementary School, 1300 West College.
