A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO THE MANY COMMUNITY
VOLUNTEERS WHO MADE THE 3RD ANNUAL MAIN
STREET DAYS AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS

' WHEREAS, the 3rd Annual Main Street Days "Celebrating 132
Years of Texas History" was held in downtown Grapevine on Satur-
;�,,_a� day and Sunday, May 3 0 & 31 , 19 8 7; and
WHEREAS, arts and crafts booths, food and drink vendors,
community booths, antique and special interest autos, and musical
and entertainment acts offered a variety of activities and
attracted more than 20, 000 visitors; and
WHEREAS, those contributing of their time and talents to
organize this outstanding event include the Main Street Days
Steering Committee of Chuck Giffin, Linda Price, and Mike Reeves;
subcommittee chairpersons Trevor Fought, Jennifer Morales, John
Dorety, Dean Reading, Diana L. Howard, John Price, Wilma Cissna,
and Gail Schneider; along with many other civic organizations,
service groups, local citizens, and community leaders; and
WHEREAS, this most successful celebration has brought
regional acclaim and recognition to Grapevine, has increased the
local business economy, and has provided renewed community pride;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
wishes to recognize the untiring efforts of the many individual
"�" and organizational volunteers responsible for the success of the
3rd Annual Main Street Days and to express appreciation for their
� dedicated service and the valuable contribution they have made to
this community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, that the Mayor and City Council extend
this sincere expression of appreciation to the individuals on the
Main Street Days Committee and the many volunteers for dedicated
service and in acknowledgement of their contributions to the
enhancement of the quality of life in our community.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 16th day of June, 1987.
