The Site Plan Review Committee of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Session, on
this the 19th day of February 2013, in the Planning and Zoning Conference Room, 200
South Main Street, Second Floor, Grapevine, Texas with the following members
present -to -wit:

CALL TO ORDER
Larry Oliver called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
CONDITIONAL USE APPLICATION CU13 -03 - GAYLORD TEXAN
First for the Committee to consider was conditional use application CU13 -03 submitted
by Gaylord Hotels for property located at 1000 Gaylord Trail and platted as Lot 1, Block
1, Opryland Fourth Addition. The applicant was requesting a conditional use permit to
amend the previously approved site plan of CU11 -13 (Ord. 2011 -26), CU12 -43 SPRC,
specifically to revise the seasonal signage for the resort pool /event area and for the
Lone Star Christmas /ICE! Event.
With this request the applicant proposed event signage approximately twenty feet in
height, 440 - square feet in size (22' by 20'). The event signage will be used in
conjunction with two annually occurring events: Paradise Springs /Summerfest sign from
February 1 st to September 15th and the Lone Star Christmas /ICE sign from on October
1st to January 15th. The ICE sign will include a digital readout countdown timer. The
timer counts down the days remaining until the opening of the exhibit and once opened
counts down the days remaining to attend the exhibit. The sign will be externally
illuminated by ground lighting.
After a brief discussion, Scott Williams moved to approve conditional use application
CU13 -03. Darlene Freed seconded the motion, which prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Freed and Williams

With no further business to discuss, Larry Oliver adjourned the meeting at 5:32 p.m.
