HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1986-016 RESOLUTION NO. 86-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS N0. 84-08 AND 85-16 RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MAIN STREET COMMITTEE BY AMENDING SECTION 3A RELATIVE TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE MAIN STREET COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING • AN EFFECTIVE DATE „m;,,,� WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council has requested consideration of increasing the number of inembers serving on the Main Street Committee (the "Committee") by adding one additional member; and WHEREAS, the additional membership position is needed to enable appointment of former Council Member and former Committee Chairman Marion Brekken to continue to offer her knowledge and technical expertise to the Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that an increase in the number of serving on the Committee would aid in the accomplishment of the various purposes of the Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS : Section 1 . That all of the matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into this Resolution as if copied in their entirety. �� Section 2. That Section 3A of Resolution No. 84-08 , as amended by Resolution No. 85-16, is hereby amended to read as follows : "A. The Committee shall consist of nineteen (19) members . The Committee members shall be residents of Grapevine; however, if no resident meeting the special requirements outlined as follows wishes to serve, a non-resident of the City may be appointed. Two (2) members shall be representatives of financial institutions located in the City of Grapevine; two (2) members shall be owners of businesses located in the Central Business District; one (1) member shall be an architect knowledgeable in the field of historic preservation; one (1) member shall be a representative of the local or county historical society or commission; one (1) member shall be an accountant; one (1) member shall be a member of the Grapevine City Council or the City Staff; one (1) member shall be a real estate broker licensed in the State of Texas; one (1) member shall be an insurance agent licensed in the State of Texas; � one (1) member shall be the owner and landlord of a building; one (1) member shall be a representative of a local utility; one (1) member shall be a representative from the City of Grapevine school system; one (1) member shall be a representative from a local media operating within the City of Grapevine; one (1) member shall be a representative of the Convention and Visitor' s Bureau; and three (3) members shall be concerned citizens of the City of Grapevine. The Main Street Project Director employed by the City of Grapevine shall also be a member of the Committee. " Section 3. That this Resolution shall be effective from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of May, 1986.
