A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, EXPRESSING
OPPOSITION TO THE CONSOLIDATION OF
MUNICIPAL TAX COLLECTIONS AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, it is the understanding of this Council that there
is interest among some members of the House Select Committee on
,�w Central Appraisal Districts to consolidate tax collections among
municipalities; and
WHEREAS, this Committee has made known its interest in
hearing from elected officials; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine is strongly opposed to any
attempts to relinquish local authority over tax collections .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 , That the City Council of the City of Grapevine,
Texas hereby officially expresses opposition to the consolidation
of municipal tax collections and reaffirms its belief that it is
in the best interest of this City and all Cities to maintain
local control over the collection of municipal taxes.
Section 2 . That the City Manager is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the members of the House
"�`"R Select Committee on Central Appraisal Districts and other parties
in furtherance of this purpose.
Section 3 . That this resolution shall take effect from and
after the date of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of July, 1986 .
