A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ENDORSES
THE EXTENSION OF MINTERS CHAPEL ROAD TO
AIRFIELD DRIVE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, there exists a high need for additional access to
,�,,,� Airfield Drive within the Dallas/Fort Worth International
Airport; and
WHEREAS, significant expansion of airport services have
increased vehicular traffic substantially; and
WHEREAS, present access to the North Cargo Area via Main
Street is inadequate, and hazardous traffic conditions threaten
the safety of those traveling to the North Cargo Area; and
WHEREAS, increased heavy truck traffic continues to impact
the composition of pavement materials of Main Street, which has
significantly shortened the life span of the roadway; and
WHEREAS, the reopening of Minters Chapel Road has been
determined to be feasible; and
WHEREAS, the reopening of Minters Chapel Road is an
appropriate additional access road to accommodate traffic to and
from the North Cargo Area; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of safety of those traveling
to and from the North Cargo Area and North Airport Entrance that
Minters Chapel Road be extended to access Airfield Drive; and

WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine urges expeditious approval of
the extension of Minters Chapel Road by the DFW International
Airport Board; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine now desires to revise its
master thoroughfare plan to accommodate the extension of Minters
Chapel Road to access Airfield Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the City of Grapevine, Texas hereby
endorses and supports the extension of Minters Chapel Road to
, access Airfield Drive as per the schematic, attached hereto and
made a part hereof as Exhibit "A" .
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine, Texas urges
expeditious approval of the extension of Minters Chapel Road by
�;;„� the DFW International Airport Board.
Section 3 . That this Resolution shall become effective from
and after the date of its passage.
