A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SUPPORTS AND ENDORSES THE
ACQUISITION OF A RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING FOR
EXTENSION OF CONTINENTAL ROAD
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of safety and future mobility
of the citize ns of the City of Grapevine that Continental Road be
�,,.. extended to connect Continental Road and State Highway 26 ; and
WHEREAS, this extension of Continental Road has been

designated on the approved plan of the Heritage Business Park ; and
tiVHEREAS, there exists a high need to complete Continental
Road across the St . Louis and Southwestern Railway tracks in the
extra territorial jurisdiction of the City of Southlake ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has endorsed and does support
the extension of Continental Road to State Highway 26 through the
intersection of the St. Louis and Southwestern Railway; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Continental Road will provide a
much needed link between the City of Grapevine and the City of
Southlake ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine supports and endorses the
location of such a facility; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine agrees to take a leading role
in acquiring the railroad crossing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,

TEXAS that:
Section 1 . The City of Grapevine, Texas hereby
� endorses and supports the extension of Continental Road
south to State Highway 26 .
Section 2 . The City of Grapevine does hereby state
its intention to take whatever legal steps are required and
to use, if necessary, its power of eminent domain to acquire
the needed right of way for the extension of Continental
Road on and across the St. Louis and Southwestern Railway
right of way . The Mayor of the City and the City Manager
are authorized and directed to communicate the City ' s
intention expressed in this Resolution to all proper and
necessary parties and to enter into discussions and
negotiations with said parties to effectuate the extension
and acquisition.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this 19th day of A�gust , 1986 .
