RESOLUTION NO. 86-46
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE APPROVING A CHANGE IN THE CITY'S WORKMEN'S
COMPENSATION CARRIER FItOM THE TEXAS ASSIGNED RISK
POOL TO EMPLOYER'S IN�URANCE OF TEXAS; DETERMINING
THAT Tg-IE CHANGE IS NECESSARY TO PRESERVE AND PRO-
TECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS OF
THE CITY AND THE PROPERTY OF �'HE CITY; DIRECTING AND
AUTi-IORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PER�'ORM ALL DUTIES
�"" AND TAKE ALL ACTS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE CHANGE.
ti11HEREAS, competitive bids were taken by the City of Grapevine, the
�:, .. "City", for the provision of workmen's compensation insurance; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the City entering into a contract for workmen's
compensation insurance with Texas Assigned Risk Pool, the City was contacted
by Employer's Insurance of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Employer's Insurance of Texas has submitted a bid which is
substantially and significantly better than the bid of Texas Assigned Risk Pool;
and
WHEREAS, considering the high de�ree of volatility of the market and the
downturn in the economy, the City Council finds and determines that a change
in the City's workmen's compensation carrier from the Texas Assigned Risk Pool
to Employer's Insurance of Texas is necessary to preserve and protect the public
health and safety of the citizens of the City and the property of City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true
and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.

Section 2. The City Council hereby approves a change in the City's
workmen's compensation insurance carrier from Texas Assigned Risk Pool to
Employer's Insurance of Texas.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed and authorized to perform all
duties, including the making of all payments for premiums, and take all steps
neces�ary to make the change in the City's workmen's compensation insurance
carrier from Texas Assigned Risk Pool to Employer's Insurance of Texas.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from and
after its passage.
