HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1986-047 CITY OF GRAPEVII�TE RESOLUTION NO. 86-47 A R.ESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AU- THORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN AIVIBULANCE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM COLLINS AMBULANCE SALES AND SERVICE OF MANSFIELD, TEXAS IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,147.48; FINDING THAT PI�,ESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND HEALTH OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY RE- �UIRE THAT THE PUR,CHASE BE MADE IMMEDIATELY AS AN "EXE1lRPTED PR.00UREMENT" UNDER TEX. REV. CN. STAT. "�`�` ANN. ART. 2368a; AND DECLt�RING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Fire Chief and City Administration for the City of ,�„�; Grapevine have reviewed and analyzed the City's need for a new ambulance and that such immediate need causes the procurement to constitute an exempted procurement under Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Ann. Art. 2368a as being necessary to preserve and protect the public health and safety of the citizens of the City; and WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has located an ambulance that meets all of the Citys' specifications as a 1986 Type I ambulance that is available for purchase from Collins Ambulance Sales and Service, Mansfield, Texas, in the amount of $49,147.48; and WHEREAS, the ambulance has been used for display purposes on two (2) occasions and is therefore unique; the price of $49,147.48 is fair, reasonable and within the market value and the close proximity to the City of Grapevine for maintenance purpose is a significant benefit to the City, which further makes the purchase unique as other manufacturers are located around the country at some distance from the City. 1VOW, THEREFO�i,E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY: Section 1. That all matters statec3 in the Preamble are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in �::, their entirety. Section 2. The purchase of a 1986 Type I ambulance that satisfies all specifications approved by the Fire Chief for the City of Grapevine is hereby authorized and approved from Collins Ambulance Sales and Service, Mansfield, Texas in the amount of $49,147.48 as an exempted procurement under Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Ann. Art. 2368a. Section 3. The fact that the present resolutions and regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety, and general welfare of the public which requires that this resolution become effective from and after the date of its passage and it is accordingly so resolved.
