A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO THE GRAPEVINE SESQUICEN-
TENNIAL COMMITTEE FOR DEDICATED COM-
MUNITY SERVICE
�
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Sesquicentennial Committee was estab-
lished to coordinate activities and events for loca commemo-
ration of the 150th anniversary of the independence of the State
of Texas; and
WHEREAS, some of the events sponsored by the Sesquicen-
tennial Committee throughout the year have included a New Year ' s
Eve Party, a Texas Independence Day Parade on March 2, the
arrival of the Texas Wagon Train on June 29 , the GrapeFest ' 86
celebration in downtown Grapevine on November l , and establish-
ment of a local historical marker program, among other
activities; and
WHEREAS, those individuals serving on the Committee are Dean
Reading, Chairman, Ann Glynn and Suellen Hall, Executive Com-
mittee, with Marion Brekken, Steve Jacoby, Riney Jordan, Bob
Phillips, Sharron Spencer, Jodi Mauldin, Cecelia Box, Rick Jones,
Mary Ellen Tamasy and Kate Singleton, along with other citizens
and community leaders who served on subcommittees and offered
assistance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas,
recognizes the valuable contributions the Sesquicentennial
Committee has made in uniting the community in celebration of our
heritage and bringing recognition to Grapevine as a result of
�� these activities; and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council, together with the local
�� citizenry, are desirous of expressing their appreciation to the
members of the Grapevine Sesquicentennial Committee for their
dedicated and untiring service to this community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, that the Mayor and City Council, along
with the citizens of Grapevine, extend this sincere expression of
appreciation to the individuals on the Sesquicentennial Committee
for dedicated service and in acknowledgement of their contri-
butions to the community.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 16th day of December, 1986 .
