RESOLUTION NO. g5-50
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, RE-
QUESTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE
COURT WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTNE DATE UPON PASSAGE

AND APPROVAL
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas (the "City"), is in need of a
� Justice of the Peace Court within the corporate limits of the City; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the merchants and banks within the City are in
favor of establishing a Justice of the Peace Court in order to curtail the number
of hot checks given to such merchants and banks within the City; and
WHEREAS, a Justice of the Peace Court will be able to handle small
claims cases and be more convenient to the residents of the City; and
WHEREAS, in the past, a Justice of the Peace Court was located within
the corporate limits of the City and the operation of the Court proved to be
cost-effective in that the revenues generated through the operation of the Court
more than offset the costs of operation; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the general health, welfare and safety
of the citizens of the City of Grapevine, Texas, to have a Justice of the peace
Court within its corporate limits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
�� Section 1. That by the passage of this Resolution, the City of
Grapevine, Texas, expresses its desire to have a Justice of the Peace Court
within the corporate limits of the City of Grapevine, Texas, and does hereby
urge the Commissioners Court of Tarrant County, Texas, to establish said Court.
Section 2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the County Judge
of Tarrant County, to wit: Mike Moncrief and to the members of the
Commissioners Court of Tarrant County, to wit: R. T. (Dick) Andersen, O. L.
Watson, Bob Hampton and B, D. Griffin.
Section 3. That this Resolution be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approved.
