A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT
BIDS WERE PROPERLY TAKEN AND REVIEWED
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) PORTABLE, '
BATTERY-OPERATED DEFIBRILLATOR/CARDIO-
SCOPE/RECORDERS; PROVIDING THAT THE BID
^�`° BE AWARDED TO A FIRM OTHER THAN THE LOW
BIDDER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS , the City Administration was authorized and directed
and did in fact advertise for bids for the purchase of three (3)
portable, battery-operated defibrillator/cardioscope/recorders
for use by Grapevine Fire Department paramedics in accordance
with specifications; and
WHEREAS, five (5) bids were received from 1) CRC Corpora-
tion, 2) Physio-Control, 3) Aero Products, 4) First Responder,
and 5) Dixie Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the bids have been analyzed and closely reviewed by
the City Administration; and
WHEREAS, even though the bids from Dixie Corporation, Aero
Products, and First Responder were lower in price, the detailed
analysis of all aspects of the bid has caused the City Adminis-
tration to recommend the bid be awarded to Physio-Control; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration ' s recommendation is based
upon their finding that Physio-Control submitted the lowest
responsible bid in that study and experience has revealed that
�� the Physio-Control product, due to certain design characteris-
tics, structural designs, power source, weight, and service
�,� availability provides more reliable performance for paramedic
field operations .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That, based on the above premises and the
detailed recommendations of the City Administration, the Council
finds that Physio-Control submitted the lowest responsible bid
and is hereby awarded the bid for the purchase of three (3)
portable, battery-operated defibrillator/cardioscope/recorders in
the amount of $21 , 105. 00 .
Section 2 . That this resolution shall take effect from and
after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of January, 1986 .
