RESOLUTION NO. 85-10
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS SUPPORTING AND
DECLARING THE WEEK OF MARCH 4-8 , 1985 AS
PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
WHEREAS , since the founding of the Texas Public School
� System 130 years ago, the growth and development of our State
have been tied closely to the educational advantages offered all
Texas citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council wishes to recognize and
highlight the role of our school system in preparing students to
live and prosper in the American democratic society; and
WHEREAS , the State Board of Education and the Board of
Trustees for the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School
District have set aside the week of March 4-8 , 1985 for the
thirty-fourth observance of Texas Public Schools Week.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the Grapevine City Council does hereby
support and declare the week of March 4-8 , 1985 as Public Schools
Week in the City of Grapevine.
Section 2 . That all citizens of the City of Grapevine are
encouraged to visit a public school during that week.
��" Section 3 . That the School District and the City shall
work together to improve educational opportunities for the
children of this community.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of February, 1985 .
