SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS FOR FIRE
STATIONS 2 AND 3
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for refrigerators and freezers for Fire Stations 2 and 3 from ISI
Commercial Refrigeration for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Projects General Facilities Fund 177 for
Fire Stations 2 and 3 for an estimated amount of $21,517.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is part of the overall project budget from the November 7,
2017 Bond Election. This is an owner furnished appliance package
containing the refrigerators and freezers for new Fire Stations 2 and 3.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to ISI
Commercial Refrigeration. The Fire and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
