HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1983-052 RESOLUTION NO. 83-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-24 RE- LATING TO ESTABLISHING FUNDING CRITERIA FOR GRANTS- IN-AID APPLICATION FOR HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUNDS BY AMENDING PARAGRAPHS 4 AND 5 OF EXHIBIT A ATTACHED TO RESOLUTION NO. 82-24 WHEREAS, the City Council approved by Resolution No. 82-24 passed and approved June 1, 1982, funding criteria for grants-in-aid applications for Hotel ,:.,, -: Occupancy Tax funds; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 82-24 makes provision for a committee consisting of three members of the City Council, the Director of the Convention �` ` and Visitors Bureau, and a member of the City Staff to review Grants-In-Aid Applications filed during the year; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to change the compositiQn of said review committee to consist wholly of inembers of the Convention and Visitors Bureau which committee may review said applications with certain stipulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section l. That Exhibit A attached to Resolution 82-24 is amended by amending paragraphs 4 and 5 as follows: A. Paragraph 4 is hereby amended to read as follows: 4. Applications for Grants-In-Aid shall be considered annually by the City Council during its consideration and approval of the Annual Budget. All Applications shall be filed with the City Manager on or before June 1 of each year in order to be considered in the Annual Budget for Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds. The City Council may include within the Annual Budget additional funds for �" the purpose of Grants-In-Aid which shall be allocated as provided in paragraph 5. �` 5. The Convention and Visitors Bureau shall review all Applications for Grants-In-Aid filed with the City Manager during the year that were not specifically considered by the City Council in the Annual Budget for Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds. If additional funds have been appropriated in the Annual Budget, the Convention and Visitors Bureau is authorized to approve or deny Applications for Grants-In-Aid filed during the year unless the amount requested by the Applicant exceeds the remaining additional funds in the Annual Budget for Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds or the amount requested exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), in which event the Convention and Visitors Bureau shall submit the Application to the City Council for consideration accompanied with a recom- mendation for Approval or Denial by the Convention and Visitors Bureau. If additional funds have not been appropriated in the Annual Budget, the Convention and Visitors Bureau shall be responsible for reviewing all Applications for Grants-In-Aid filed during the year and making its recommendation for Approval or Denial to the City Council.
