A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS REPEALING RESOL-
UTION NO. 84-20; PROVIDING THAT BIDS WERE
PROPERLY TAKEN AND REVIEWED FOR THE PUR-
CHASE OF A NEW ELECTRONIC TELEPHONE
SYSTEM; PROVIDING THAT THE BID BE AWARDED

PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
�"` "N WHEREAS, the City Administration was authorized and directed
and did in fact advertise for bids for the purchase of a new
electronic telephone system in accordance with specifications;
and
WHEREAS, seven (7) bids were received and reviewed from 1)
C. P. National, Inc. , 2) Communications Corporation of America,
3) General Telephone & Electric, 4) Centel Business Systems, 5)
Southwestern Bell Telecom, 6) AT&T Information Systems , and 7)
ROLM Texas Telecommunications; and
WHEREAS, the bids have been analyzed and closely reviewed by
the City Administration and Glenrich Telecommunications Con-
sultants, a firm hired by the City to assist in obtaining a new
telephone system; and
P�HEREAS, even though bids submitted by other companies were
lower in price and one other company received a higher composite
score overall in terms of system reliability, maintenance and
expansion costs, and system features, there was a discrepancy
found in that company' s bid price and the price in the proposed
contract. As a result, the detailed analysis of all aspects of
the bid has caused the City Administration and Glenrich Telecom-
munications to recommend the bid be awarded to General Telephone
�'' & Electric.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section l. That Resolution No. 84-20 passed by the
Grapevine City Council on the 9th day of April, 1984 is hereby
rescinded and repealed.
Section 2. That, based on the above premises and the
recommendation of the City Administration and Glenrich Telecom-
munications Consultants, the City Council finds that General
Telephone and Electric submitted the lowest responsible bid and
is hereby awarded the bid for the purchase of an electronic tele-
phone system in the amount of $2 , 218 per month under a 60-month
lease/purchase agreement.
Section 3 . That. this resolution shall take effect from and
after the date of its passage.
