A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS , AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE TO APPLY
FOR A GRANT FROM THE LA6�1 ENFORCEMENT
ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION PROVIDING
NECESSARY FUNDING, WITHIN THEIR GUIDE-
LINES, FOR PERSONNEL AND THE PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT
'� WHEREAS, urban areas across the nation are experiencing
increasing demands for police services , and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also exper-
iencing this nation-wide trend, and
WHEREAS, Grapevine Police Department has a modern
communication system with the exception of a multi-channel
recording device, and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Police Department can provide
better service to the citizens of Grapevine if they have a
multi-channel recording system, and
WHEREAS, this responsibility is placing an undue hard-
ship on the resources of the City of Grapevine, and
WHEREAS , the Texas Criminal Justice Council will provide
approved personnel and equipment to alleviate this hardship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
�N� THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section l. That the City of Grapevine Police Department
�4� is authorized to request funding from the Texas Criminal
Justice Council for necessary personnel and equipment.
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine understands that
the Texas Criminal Justice Council , under it' s guidelines,
will provide necessary funding for the project, if approved.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 16th day of March, 1982 .
