A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE TO APPLY
FOR A GRANT FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE
ADMINISTRATION PROVIDING NECESSARY
FUNDING, WITHIN THEIR GUIDELINES , FOR
PERSONNEL
w� WHEREAS, urban areas across the nation are experiencing
demands for police services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also exper-
iencing this nation-wide trend; and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Police Department is responsible
for policing portions of Grapevine Lake (within the City
limits of Grapevine, Texas) ; and
WHEREAS , the crime rate on Grapevine Lake is like the
national trend, which is on the rise; and
WHEREAS, this responsibility is placing an undue hard-
ship on the resources of the City of Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council will provide
approved personnel to alleviate this hardship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

Section l. That the City of Grapevine Police Department
is authorized to request funding from the Texas Criminal Jus-
�� tice Council for necessary personnel.
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine understands that
the Texas Criminal Justice Council , under it' s guidelines ,
will provide necessary funding for the project, if approved.
