A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE POLICE
CHIEF OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE AND
THE POLICE CHIEF OF THE CITY OF BED-
FORD TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL
FOR A NARCOTICS INVESTIGATOR
WHEREAS, the Cities of Bedford and Grapevine are located
' in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United
States; and
WHEREAS, narcotic-related crime is recognized as one of
the most crucial areas in society' s struggle for domestic
tranquility; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council will provide
funding for a Narcotics Investigator; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City
of Grapevine and the City Council of the City of Bedford that
the best interests of the citizens can be served by utilizing
an officer on an exchange basis for Narcotics Investigator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCILS OF
THE CITY OF BEDFORD AND THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section l . That the City of Grapevine' s and the City of
Bedford' s Police Departments are authorized to request funding
from the Texas Criminal Justice Council for a joint Narcotics
Investigator.
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine and the City of
� Bedford understand that, if approved, the Texas Criminal
Justice Council will provide 100a funding for the project
for a period of one (1) year.
