A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVID-
ING THAT BIDS WERE PROPERLY TAKEN AND
REVIEWED FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MODULAR
AMBULANCE; PROVIDING THAT THE BID BE
AWARDED TO A FIRM OTHER THAN THE LOW
BIDDER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, the City Administrator was authorized and
,�� directed and did in fact advertise for bids for the purchase
of a modular ambulance in accordance with specifications;
and
WHEREAS, three (3) bids were received and reviewed from
T�xas Superior, Inc . , Summers Ambulance & Coach, and Superior
Southwest, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, the bids have been analyzed and closely re-
viewed by the City Administration; and
WHEREAS, even though the bid from Texas Superior, Inc.
was lower in price by $467. 00 , the detailed analysis of all
aspects of the bid has caused the City Administration to
recommend the bid be awarded to Summers Ambulance & Coach,
the second lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration ' s recommendation is
based upon the fact that Texas Superior, Inc. does not have a
maintenance facility closer than Austin, Texas.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
�" ' CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
,;�„ Section l . That, based on the above premises and the
detailed recommendations of the City Administration , the
Council finds that Summers Ambulance & Coach submitted the
lowest responsible bid and is hereby awarded the bid for the
purchase of a modular ambulance in the amount of $33 ,850 .
Section 2 . That this resolution shall take effect from
and after its passage .
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of September, 1982 .
