A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE POLICE
CHIEFS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE AND
THE CITY OF BEDFORD TO SUBMIT A GRANT
APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS CRIMINAL JUS-
TICE COUNCIL FOR A NARCOTIC5 GRANT
WHEREAS, the Cities of Grapevine and Bedford are
located in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in
the United States ; and
LaHEREAS, narcotic-related crime is recognized as one
of the most crucial problems in society' s struggle for domes-
tic tranquility; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council will pro-
vide funding for narcotic investigation and purchases; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Grapevine and the City Council of the City of Bedford
that the best interests of the citizens can be served by
utilizing funds for purchases and exchange of officers for
Narcotics Investi�ation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCILS OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AND THE CITY OF BEDFORD, TEXAS :
Section 1 . That the Cities of Grapevine and Bedford
Police Departments are authorized to request funding from the
�` "° Texas Criminal Justice Council for a joint narcotics operation.
,�,� Section 2 . That the Cities of Grapevine and Bedford
understand that, if approved, the Texas Criminal Justice
Council will provide 60% funding for the project for a period
of one (1) year.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the lst day of February, 1983 .
