A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, RECOGNIZING THE NEED FO�
ASSISTANCE TO UNDERPRIVILEGED PERSONS IN OUR
COD'iMUNITY; ENCOURAGING AND ENDORSING CITIZEN
PARTICIPATION IN A PROGRAM TO PROVIDE FOOD,
�� CLOTHING, AND OTHER NECESSITIES TO THE ELDER-
LY, HANDICAPPED, AND LESS FORTUNATE; DECLAR-
ING THE MONTH OF MARCH, 1983 , "HELPING HANDS
MONTH" ; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, there are many persons within our community less
fortunate than others and in need of food, clothing, and other
items essential for survival; and
WHEREAS, to express concern and to care for the underprivi-
leged in our community is rewarding to each of us and creates a
common bond among our citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council of the City of Grapevine,
Texas recognizes the need for assistance to underprivilged per-
sons in our community and herewith endorses and encourages
citizen participation in the "Helping Hands" program to provide
food, clothing, and other necessities to the elderly, handicapped,
and less fortunate.
�.:,;� Section 2 . That the month of March, 1983 , is herewith
declared "Helping Hands Month" .
Section 3 . That this resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVIrdE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of February, 1983 .
