HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1983-026 RESOLUTION 83-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXp,s� ENDpR.,ING Z�iE IMPLII�NTATION OF A CONTINUING PRETREATN�i' PROGRAM AS RE- QUIRID BY 40 C�'R 403 FOR Tf� C�N'I'RAL REGIONAL 4�STEWATER SYSTENI. � Wf�REA.S, on June 26, 1978, the United States Environmental ' Protection Agency published a rule (amended January 28, 1981) which established mechanisms and procedures for enforcing National Pretreatment Standards controlling the introduction of wastes from non-danestic sources into Publicly Owned Treatment Works (PO'IWs) ; and Wf�REAS, this rule, 40 C:F'R 403, requires that a Pretreat�nt Program be developed for the Central Regional Wastewater System; and WHERF.I�S, The Trinity River Authority of Texas, as the awner and operator of a PO'IW, must com�ly with rule 40 CFR 403; and WHERF.�S, the City, as a contracting party of the Central Regional Wastewater System, has entered into an Amendatory Wastewater Contract with the Trinity River Authority of Texas whereby the City has enacted ordinances that are necessary to implement and enforce the Nationa.l Pretreatment Standards; and WHERF'�AS, 40 (�R 403.9(b) requires a statement or resolution reflecting the endorsement or approval of the local boards or councils responsible for supervising and/or funding the PC7IW. NpW, Z�iEREFORE, BE IT RESOLUED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF '1� � CITY OF GFtAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City of Grapevine, Texas hereby endorses the implementation of a pretreatment program as required by 40 C�'R 403 for the Central Regional Wastewater System with such program to continue as long as 40 CFR 403 remains in effect.
