A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
TO APPLY FOR A GR.ANT FROM THE LAW
ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRA-
TION PROVIDING NECESSARY FUNDING,
�«, WITHIN THEIR GUIDELINES FOR THE
PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT
�'� WHEREAS , urban areas across the nation are
experiencing increasing demands for police services ,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also
experiencing this nation-wide trend, and
WHEREAS, Grapevine Police Department has a modern
communication system with the exception of a multi-
channel recording device, and
WHEREAS, the Grapevine Police Department can
provide better service to the citizens of Grapevine if
they have a multi-channel recording system, and
WHEREAS, this responsibility is placing an undue
hardship on the resources of the City of Grapevine, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council will
provide approved equipment to alleviate this hardship.
� ' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

Section 1 . That the City of Grapevine Police
Department is authorized to request funding from the
Texas Criminal Justice Council for necessary equipment.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine understands
that the Texas Criminal Justice Council, under it' s
guidelines, will provide 50 percent funding for the
project, if approved.

CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 2nd day of August,
1983.
