A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT
FROM THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
WHEREAS, urban areas across the Nation are experiencing
�* a dramatic increase in the incidents of motorists driving
while intoxicated.
„�, WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also experiencing
this Nation wide trend; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety will provide one
hundred percent funding for the Selective Traffic Enforce-
ment Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section l. That the City of Grapevine Police Department
is authorized to request funding from the Office of Traffic
Safety for a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program with the
goal of reducing the incidents of motorist Driving While
Intoxicated.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine understands that
if approved, the Office of Traffic Safety will provide 100�
funding for the project with a total of $10 ,700. 00 or ten
thousand and seven hundred dollars.
