A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE STATING
THE POLICY OF THE CITY RELATIVE TO THE ENCOUR-
AGEMENT OF ITS CITIZENS AND VISITORS TO CONSERVE
AND PROTECT BIRD LIFE

WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Texas by the
passage of the Parks and Wildlife Code has enacted laws for
the protection of non-game birds; and
�
WHEREAS, Chapter 64 , and other chapters of the Parks
and Wildlife Code, establish laws, rules, and regulations
that support and encourage the conservation of bird life in
the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine supports the conserva-
tion of bird life contained in the Parks and Wildlife Code
and is committed to the enforcement of said code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine recognizes the value of
birds as an important natural resource that furnishes the
citizens and the City economic benefits and values as a first
line of defense against noxious weeds and insects that de-
stroy our crops and other matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the stated policy of the City of Grape-
vine is to support and enforce the State laws contained in the
�<�� Parks and Wildlife Code relating to the conservation of bird
life, particularly Article 64. 002 dealing with the protection
of non-game birds.

Section 2. The City of Grapevine is hereby designated a
bird sanctuary where all laws relating to the conservation and
preservation of birds are supported and enforced and all citi-
zens are called upon to conserve bird life through care, feed-
ing, and protection from illegal danger.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL on this the 7th
day of July, 1981.
