A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE TO APPLY
FOR A GRANT FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT
ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION PROVIDING
NECE5SARY FUNDING, WITHIN THEIR GUIDE-
,�,� LINES, FOR PERSONNEL AND THE PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT RELATIVE TO LAW ENFORCE-
MENT AT LAKE GRAPEVINE

WHEREAS, urban areas across the nation are exper-
iencing increasing demands for Police services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also
experiencing this nation-wide trend, and
WHEREAS, Lake Grapevine, a U. S. Army Corps of
Engineers facility, located principally in the City of
Grapevine, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has law enforcement
responsibility in the U. S. Government parks and water
located within its limits, and
WHEREAS, this responsibility is placing an undue
hardship on the resources of the City of Grapevine, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Council will
provide approved personnel and equipment to alleviate
this hardship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

Section l. That the City of Grapevine Police Depart-
ment is authorized to request funding from the Texas
Criminal Justice Council for necessary personnel and
equipment.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine understands
that the Texas Criminal Justice Council, under its guide-
lines , will provide necessary funding for the project, if
approved.

OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 4th day of
