A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS REJECT-
ING THE BIDS RECEIVED RELATIVE TO
THE CONSTRUCTION OF GRAPEVINE CON-
COURSE AND GOLF COURSE FACILITY
SIGNS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF THE CONVENTION AND
' VISITORS BUREAU TO AWARD THE BID
ON A NEGOTIATED BASIS; AND PROVID-
�" ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Staff did in fact advertise for bids
relative to construction of the Grapevine Concourse and Golf
Course facility signs; and,
WHEREAS, two bids were received and were closely analyzed
by the Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Executive �
Director; and,
WHEREAS, Coffman Builders, Inc. did submit the lowest
bid in the amount of $8 , 969. 00; and,
WHEREAS, Coffman Builders failed to submit a bid bond
or other acceptable security; and,
WHEREAS, the bid submitted by Fairris Construction,
Inc. was $2 , 869 higher than the low bidder; and,
WHEREAS, it is of the utmost importance to act at once
��� to expedite the construction of the Grapevine Concourse and
Golf Course facility signs and make them available for identi-

fication purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section l. That all bids submitted relative to the con-
struction of the Grapevine Concourse and Golf Course facility
signs are hereby rejected.
Section 2. That the Executive Director of the Convention
and Visitors Bureau is hereby authorized to award the bid to
Coffman Builders, Inc. on a negotiated basis.
Section 3. That this resolution is effective immed-
iately upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the lst day of September, 1981.
