A RESOLUTION PASSED PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 7244C ,

TO INCREASE PROPERTY TAXES ; CALLING A PUBLIC
' HEARING AND DIRECTING THAT NOTICE BE GIVEN IN
�. ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATUTE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE ,
TEXAS :
Section l. That due to a substantial amount of additional
personal property being added to the City' s tax rolls for 1979 , it
appears it will be necessary to increase the City' s effective tax
rate , as that term is defined and authorized to be calculated by
Art. 7244C Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat . Ann. , by 14. 1 over the 1978 effective
tax rate, the City' s tax rate for 1978 being $0 . 89 per $100 . 00 of
assessed valuation and the proposed tax rate for 1979 being $0 . 89
per $100 . 00 of assessed valuations , the City Council does hereby by
the approval of this resolution state its intention to increase the
effective tax rate for 1979 by 14. 1 percent over 1978.
Section 2 . A public hearing on this proposed increase will
be held on the 28th day of August at 7 : 30 p .m. at the City Hall ,
413 Main Street, Grapevine , Texas . The City Secretary is directed
to publish a notice of this hearing in the official City newspaper
in accordance with Art. 7244C.
