A RESOLUTION MAKING OFFICIAL FINDING AND
DETERMINATION AS TO THE POPULATION AND
NUMBER OF INHABITANTS OF AND WITHIN THE
CITY OF GR.APEVINE , TEXAS , AS OF JANUARY
1, 1980.
WHEREAS , the City Council of Grapevine, Texas has found and
determined that it will be for the benefit of said city to
' have a revised estimate of the population and number of in-
habitants , and that the city make an official finding thereof;
�
and,
WHEREAS , the City Council has directed that an unofficial
census of the population of the City of Grapevine be taken;
and,
WHEREAS , the 1970 population count taken from the North Central
Council of Governments Census Fact Book, plus the number of new
dwelling units less the number of demolitions and using a vacancy
rate of 4. 9'/o and using 3 . 24 persons per dwelling units as the
multiplier; and,
WHEREAS , based upon such census , and on such investigation, it
has been found and determined that the City of Grapevine , Texas ,
as of January 1, 1980, actually has within its limits a population
of 15 ,995 ; and,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
SECTION 1. That the City Council has officially found and
determined, and does now find and determine, that the population
�°-�� of the City of Grapevine, Texas , as of the lst of January, 1980
was 15 , 995 .
SECTION 2 . And further, the said City Council now orders and
directs that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
Texas Highway Department so that they may change the population
signs on the roads and highways entering and leaving said City
of Grapevine, Texas .
PASSED AND APPROVED, on this the Sth day of February, 1980 at
the City Hall, in Grapevine, Texas , by unanimous vote of the
City Council of the City of Grapevine , Texas .
