A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING THE
CITY'S INTENT TO WITHDRAW FROM PARTICIPA-
TION IN THE SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM; AND
DIRECTING THAT A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE
RESOLUTION AND AN ACCOMPANYING LETTER BE
SENT TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS , THE City of Grapevine is currently participating
in the Social Security System established by the Federal
Government, and
WHEREAS, employees of the City are required to also
participate in such plan, and
WHEREAS , the Federal Government requires a two-year notice
to withdraw from the plan, and
WHEREAS, a program paralleling Social Security may be found
within this two-year period that may be more desirable to the
employees of the City of Grapevine, Texas ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
That the City hereby declare its intent to withdraw from
participation in the Social Security System, and will forward a
- copy of this Resolution, along with a letter stating this intent,
to the proper officials in the Social Security Administration.
DULY PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GR.APEVINE,
TEXAS, on the 19th day of February , 1980.
