A RESOLUTION PASSED PURSUANT TO ARTICLE
7244C, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. ANN. , APPROV-
ING A PROPOSAL TO INCREASE PROPERTY TAXES;
CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING AND DIRECTING THAT
NOTICE BE GIVEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATUTE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPE-
VINE, TEXAS:
� Section 1. That due to revaluation of real and personal
� property and an increase in the tax rate, it appears it will
be necessary to increase the City' s effective tax rate, as that
term is defined and authorized to be calculated by Article
7244C Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Ann. , by 11. 3� over the 1979 effective
tax rate, the City' s tax rate for 1979 being 0. 534 per $100. 00
of assessed valuation and the proposed tax rate for 1979 being
$0. 59 per $100. 00 of assessed valuations, the City Council does
hereby, by the approval of this resolution state its intention
to increase the effective tax rate for 1979 by 11. 3� percent over
1979.
Section 2. A public hearing on this proposed increase will
be held on the 19th day of August at 7 : 00 P.M. at the City Hall,
413 Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. The City Secretary is directed
to publish a notice of this hearing in the official City newspaper
in accordance with Article 7244C.
